性质:利用阻挡层效应的光电元件。表层为氧化镉(CdO)作为负极,中间层为高纯硒(Se)半导体材料,底层为铝或铁作为正极。以导线连接两极,并串连一微电流计。由于Se与CdO电子逸出功不同,CdO的电子向Se扩散。Se上表面带负电,CdO下表面带正电,阻止CdO中的电子继续向Se扩散,达到平衡,出现正负偶电层,称阻挡层或壁垒层。Se有吸光和单向导电作用,光照后Se结破坏,产生自由电子,向CdO层单向移动,正负两极产生电位差,有光电流生成,构成阻挡层光电池。
