性质:电介质加一电场后会发生极化并有微电流流过,而这一过程是需要一定能量的。同时在电场作用下介质会产生一定的热量,并以热的方式散发出去。由此加于材料的一个周期之内的电能不可能完全储存起来而消耗一部分,而造成功率损耗。功率损耗是指所加功率因材料本身原因或其他原因而不能成为有用功率的那部分。如以高分子材料制成的电机,其输入功率因材料本身损耗及机械摩擦等原因致使实有的输出功率变小,两者之差即为功率损耗。
