Artificial neural network, the main means applied in this thesis, takes part in the innovative study of the model building and forecasting of water environmental carrying capability for Hanjiang upstream basin, aiming at the characters of drainage area water environment ultimate carrying capacity.

Contrary to the social-economic development of the middle and lower reaches of the Hanjiang basin, which is almost in the territory of Hubei province, quality of the water in this basin becomes worse and worse.
