In this paper,the principle,the method of engineering design,the experimental devices and results of electro-optical amplitude modulation with LN crystal are presented.

The experimental setup and results are given in detail for measuring the total loss of a passive ring resonant cavity with cw amplitudemodulated laser as a probe, where the laser is frequencystabilized to one of the longitudinal modes of the cavity with the socalled dithering method, and error analysis are presented at last.
