    位于中国云南省西北部。又称大雪山。属横断山脉,断块山地。近南北走向。北接宁静山,南接无量山、哀牢山等。山势高峻,多深谷大峡。海拔一般在4000米以上。高山部分终年积雪。主峰玉龙雪山,海拔5596米,位于丽江纳西族自治县西北。是澜沧江、金沙江的分水岭。多云南松、冷杉等森林资源及多种药材如(贝母、虫草、当归等),野生动物资源也很丰富。
