x一ongeun linye乡村林业(country forestry)通过多种形式调动广大农民发展林业的积极性，把农村中的传统林业生产活动与乡村发展相联系，以促进乡村持续发展的一种林业活动。 据中国“七五”森林资源清查(1989~1993)，全国林业用地2.63亿公顷，集体林占59.2%;有林地7033万公顷，集体林占54.7%。因此，广泛动员农民植树造林、管林和护林，发展乡村林业，对促进中国林业建设和农村社会发展具有积极意义。 乡村林业是中国林业的重要组成部分。它体现了林业变革与发展的过程，打破传统林业就林论林的狭隘性，强调通过广泛宣传、教育，把广大农民吸引到林业活动中来;突出了农民在发展林业中的自主地位，把造林、爱林、护林变为农民自觉的行动，纳人乡村社会发展的重要内容。 中国乡村林业可采取如下实施途径:①以乡为单位，编制乡村林业发展规划，实行山、水、田、林、路综合治理，农、林、牧、副、渔及贸、工、商全面发展;②以农民自发组织、自我教育的形式，采取乡村、林场、联营林场、个人承包荒山绿化以及自留山经营等多种形式，在与农民切身利益挂钩的基础上，落实林业发展规划;③通过资源优化配置和农林复合经营、多层次立体开发及集约经营，提高森林资源的利用率和产出率，并使农民在发展林业生产中得到实惠;④依托科技与教育，以林、科、教相结合的形式提高农民的文化和技术素质，使科学技术转化为生产力，从而进一步加速乡村林业的发展。(李飞)
