为线形伸展的槽形凹地。是暂时性流水形成的侵蚀地貌，主要发育在半干旱气候带的松散沉积层上，在植被稀疏的缓坡地区，侵蚀沟可以发展得很快，使地形遭受强烈的分割，蚕食耕地，破坏道路，造成大量的水土流失。
侵蚀沟的形成与发展可分为以下几个阶段，细沟阶段；水流在斜坡上由片流逐渐汇集成细小的股流，在地表形成大致平行的细沟（宽0.5米，深0.1～0.4米，长数米）。由细沟进一步下切加深形成了切沟；切沟已有了明显的沟缘，沟口形成小陡坎，宽和深可达1～2米。切沟再进一步下蚀，形成了冲沟；冲沟的沟头有了明显的陡坎，沟边经常发生崩塌、滑坡、使沟槽不断加宽，冲沟深约几米至几十米，长约几百米，冲沟在我国的黄土高原特别发育。冲沟进一步发展，沟坡由崩塌逐渐变得平缓，沟底填充碎屑物，形成宽而浅的干谷称为拗谷。
