| 海西蒙古族藏族自治州 位于中国青海省北部，青海湖以西 ，邻接甘肃省及西藏自治区和新疆维吾尔自治区。辖格尔木市、德令哈市、乌兰县、天峻县、都兰县2市 3 县，并直辖 德令哈镇、冷湖镇、茫崖镇、大柴旦镇4镇。州人民政府驻德令哈市。面积32.1万平方千米。1990年人口31.37万，少数民族人口7.54万 。有蒙古、藏、汉、回、土、撒拉等民族。1954年建海西藏族哈萨克族自治区，1955年改自治州，1963年改海西蒙古族藏族自治州。北依阿尔金山、祁连山，南靠昆仑山、唐古拉山，中为柴达木盆地。属高原大陆性气候。富盐、煤 、铁、石油、天然气等矿产资源。农牧结合，主产牛、羊、马、骆驼和小麦、青稞、油菜籽。有采矿、炼铁、电力、汽车修理、化肥等工业。 |
