柽柳
Tamarix 
    柽柳科柽柳属植物的通称。该属约90种。产于欧洲、亚洲及非洲的草原、半荒漠地区,中国有18种,主要分布于西北、华北地区。柽柳萌条坚韧,可作农具和编筐;枝叶为优良燃料和饲料;茎皮含鞣质,可制栲胶;嫩枝叶入药;花色美、花期长,可作观赏植物和蜜源植物。柽柳是落叶小乔木或灌木。小枝细弱。单叶、互生、鳞片状。花小、两性,成细弱的穗状或总状花序,或有时组成圆锥状花序。蒴果。种子细小,顶端有束毛(见图)。喜光。耐高温、低温及大气干旱。对土壤条件适应性强:既耐干旱瘠薄,又耐水湿盐碱。在盐碱地区的柽柳,常见树体有泌盐现象。深根性。生长迅速,萌蘖性强。抗风蚀,不怕沙埋与沙割,是改良盐碱地和营造防护林的优良树种。播种或插条繁殖。一年生苗高1.5米左右即可出圃造林。主要害虫有柽柳条叶甲、柽柳圆眼叶甲等食叶害虫。
