From 1999～2002, an investigation on amphibian and reptile was carried out in Ka ixian County of Chongqing Municipality.
1999～ 2 0 0 2年对开县的两栖爬行动物资源进行了大规模调查 ,初步发现有两栖类 17种 ,其中有尾目 2种 ,无尾目 15种 ;爬行类 2 3种 ,其中龟鳖目 2种 ,有鳞目蜥蜴亚目 8种、蛇亚目 13种 (含重庆市蛇类新记录 1属 1种 )。

In 1964, the author was sent by late Academician Cheng-chao Liu to lead a small group to Hainan Island for carrying out an eight-month herpetological survey.
1964年3至11月,作者受原四川医学院院长、已故刘承钊学部委员(院士)的派遣,率领一个小组到海南岛进行为期八个月的两栖爬行动物调查。
补充资料：最小的爬行动物
最小的爬行动物是一种小壁虎，只能在加勒比海沿海、英国维尔京戈群岛上找到。1964年8月10日-16日发现了15条，其中最大的3条从吻尖到肛门长1.8厘米，尾巴差不多和身体一样长。
另一种壁虎可能还要小些，唯一发现的一条是几乎成熟的雌性，从吻尖到肛长仅1.7厘米，尾巴也同样长。这只最小的壁虎是1966年3月15日在海地岛的马塞夫德拉霍特西边的一株树的根部发现的。
