The objective of this study was to research the effects of alfalfa saponins and alfalfa meal on growth performance, meat quality, immune status, antioxidization capacity, lipid metabolism, and digestive physiology of weaned piglets and finishing pigs.

The control group were fed basal diet,the meal group were fed with the test diet with 5%alfalfa meal,the other six groups were fed with the basal diets added with 500,1000,1500,2000,2500 and 3000mg alfalfa saponins(the content of total saponins was 34%)per kilogram.

This paper have studied on the effect of adding different levels alfalfa saponins and emodin in the diets of broilers on broiler’s growth performance, meat quality,antioxidant function,immune function and lipid metabolism and investigated the effect of alfalfa saponins and emodin on the cholesterol metabolism.
