介绍
盛放食品的器具豆在古代是用来盛放食品的器具，它实际是一件加有高底座的浅盘。最早的豆产生于新石器时代晚期，而庙底沟二期文化是这一时期的早段，我们这里介绍的河南省洛阳市王湾遗址出土的豆实际是中国陶豆的较早形态。这件豆的胎体是细致的泥质灰陶，但表皮经过工艺处理呈黑色，这就是习称的"黑皮陶"。由于经过打磨抛光，陶豆外观黑而亮泽，显得庄重典雅。豆盘中部有折线，将盘腹分为上下两部分，豆柄作喇叭状，并有几组圆形的镂孔。这样的造型与装饰，使整个器物多了几分生动，避免了单一的黑色所产生的沉重感。
"豆"类的族谱豆除了陶质的以外，还有木质、竹质的，商周以后更盛行青铜豆。按古代字书的解释，木豆称梪，竹豆叫笾，陶豆为登。豆的长柄称为"校"，柄下的圈足称为"镫"。但这类繁杂的名称均是周代及其以后发展而来的，由于豆在当时不仅用于日常生活，还更多地在祭祀仪式中用于盛食敬神，而神是有等级的，不同等级用不同的豆，要区别这些等级，便只好从名称上想办法了。
