形态特征: 金发藓科小金发藓属植物。丛集群生，多硬挺，绿色或暗绿色。茎直立，不分叉，长达5-6厘米，基部密生红棕色假根。叶干燥时贴茎，或上部向内卷曲，湿润时倾立;基部卵形或阔卵形，呈半鞘状，上部呈阔披针形，渐尖;叶边平直，具粗齿，由2-3个细胞组成;中肋长达叶尖，腹面密被纵长栉后，一般有4-6个细胞，顶细胞内凹。雌雄异株。雄株较小，成熟时顶端形成着生多数红棕色盘状雄苞，次年萌生新枝。雌株顶端着生由细长蒴柄伸出的孢蒴，并被覆密生黄色纤毛的蒴帽。
生境分布:习生于林边潮湿土壁，在我国南北山区常成大片生长。也分布于朝鲜和日本。
用途:全株可水煎，用于清热解毒，具抗菌作用。
