一、耗水量少
华北地区每年秋季为建植草坪的最佳季节，秋季雨水较多，光照强度变弱，水分蒸发量也少，这时“地气”也上来了，土壤湿度容易保持。秋季气候凉爽，温度在25℃左右，适合草籽出苗。播种后喷一二次透水，15天左右出苗。出苗后除非旱情严重一般不需再浇水。
二、杂草少
秋季杂草处于生长末期，而此时正是冷季性草坪草生长旺盛期。这时建植草坪，杂草几乎不出苗，草坪草正常出苗，即使有杂草出来量也很少，草坪出苗后拔一次杂草，即可完全除掉。
三、出苗全
草坪内杂草一旦控制住；草坪草就有了出苗的空间。秋播的草坪杂草少，有利于草坪草出苗多而全。
四、易管理
秋播草坪出苗后一般只需拔一次杂草、浇一次冻水即可越冬，不用刈剪、施肥等，翌春再进行正常管理。
