A total of 61 pangolin(Manis pentadactyla)burrows at Dawuling Natural Reserve were recorded and measured from June 2000 to May 2001,and 40 of them were dissected.

A survey was conducted between December 2000 and March 2001 on the population and density of Chinese pangolin( Manis pentadactyla aurita ) in Dawuling Natural Reserve,Maoming,Guangdong Province,China.
20 0 0年 1 2月至 2 0 0 1年 3月 ,利用“洞口记数法”对大雾岭自然保护区穿山甲华南亚种的种群密度与种群数量进行了调查 ,结果表明 :保护区内穿山甲的种群数量为 65 2 7～1 5 6 5 9头 ,平均密度为 1 85～ 4 43ind /km2 ;不同栖息生境穿山甲的种群平均密度为 2 46～ 5 90ind /km2 ,密度大小依次为针阔混交林 >阔叶林 >灌木林 >针叶林。

大雾岭自然保护区位于广东省西南部，总面积3534公顷，属云开山脉，境内海拔在1500米以上的山峰有29座，其主峰大田顶海拔1703．8米，为粤西最高峰，大雾岭因其经常云雾弥漫而闻名遐迩。游人登上主峰大田顶远眺，层层群山皆在脚下，茫茫林海尽收眼底，姿态各异的飞瀑，在阳光照耀下，虹影飞悬，七彩斑斓。坐落在1570米海拔的大田顶水库宛如 “天湖”，清澈如镜，像一块晶莹闪烁的宝石镶嵌在青山绿林之中。一年四季，气候如春，游人漫步林间小径，观赏森林奇观，大自然美景使人流连忘返。大雾岭是粤西得天独厚的探险、避暑、疗养、旅游胜地。
