测量运动物体线加速度和振动参数的仪器。它由加速度传感器和放大器组成。常用的加速度传感器是压电晶体传感器（见图），其输出端产生的电压与它所承受的加速度成比例。敏感元件由两片压电晶体圆片(锗钛酸铅)组成。圆片上放有一质量块。质量块由一个弹簧预先加载，整个组件安装在厚基座的金属壳体内。当传感器随运动物体作加速度运动时，质量块向压电晶体圆片施加一个与质量块加速度精确地成比例的力。由于压电效应，在两个压电晶体圆片的两端产生一个电位差（电压）。这个电位差也与质量块的加速度成比例。为了放大压电式加速度传感器较小的输出信号，传感器可以同电压放大器配合使用，也可同电荷放大器配合使用。压电式加速度传感器有很高的自振频率，体积小，重量轻，灵敏度高。但它的低频性能较差，输出信号较小和输出阻抗较高。此外还有应变式和差动变压器式的加速度传感器。它们的输出信号较大，输出阻抗较小，但需要激励电压。加速度仪的测量记录设备有光线记录示波器、阴极射线示波器和磁带记录仪。
