Grassland degradation, land salinization and soil desertification(DSD) are typical ecoenvironmental problems in the west of Jilin Province.

Human's irrational development activities have brought serious effects to soil environment,such as desertification,soil erosion,salination,and contamination etc.

The soil desertification in northern part of Hebei province is getting moreand more serious.

Analyzing the characteristics of desert soil, the paper introduces several key technologies influen- cing desert soil compaction,such as water content control,equipments and its parameters,analyzes the difficulty of roller and self-unloaded truck across the desert soil.

Laboratory tests of fly ash as a sandy soil amendment and its effects on soil water

The results are showed as follow: ①If Artificial zeolite was mixed into sandy soil, it can increase effective moisture of sandy soil for cutting down irrigation water.

To find out the amelioration effect of soil physical properties on using fly ash as sandy soil amendment,we compared the effect of different fly ash application rate(0%,10%,20%,30%,40%) on the soil physical properties and structure by means of simulated experiment in laboratory In this study.

Discussed in this paper are the spatial distribution pattern of organic C and total N contents of sandy soils in relation to the relative height of soil sampling sites along the transect from irrigated cropland, rainfed cropland and shifting sand, and the vertical distribution in the soil profile of irrigated cropland in Horqin Sandy Land.
