描述SauromatumSchott斑龙芋属，天南星科，6种，分布于东半球热带地区，我国有斑龙芋S.venosum（Ait.）Kunth等2种，产西藏和云南。多年生草本，有块茎，隔年生叶生花；叶单生，叶片鸟足状全裂或深裂，具长柄；佛焰苞枯存；肉穗花序无柄，短于佛焰苞，有延长的附属体；花单性同株，雌雄花远离，中间为棒状的无性器官所分隔；花被缺；雄花具少数雄蕊，花药近压扁，4裂，顶孔开裂；子房长椭圆形，1室；胚珠2－4颗，生于室底；浆果倒尖塔形，有种子1颗。
