提取方法 不同于热带的古塔波橡胶和巴西橡胶,只能采用溶剂抽提法、研磨浮选法、碱液浸洗制胶法取得。用碱液浸洗法可制得含70％左右的杜仲橡胶。
成分和性质 杜仲胶和古塔波橡胶的化学成分都是反－1，4－聚异戊二烯，是巴西橡胶的成分顺－1，4－聚异戊二烯的同分异构体，它们的物理性质大不相同。
杜仲橡胶在室温时是皮革状的坚韧物质，纯胶无色，商品胶则带有各种颜色。纯胶在10℃时结晶，40～50℃开始表现有弹性，易伸长，100℃软化，具有可塑性,冷却后可恢复原来的性质。其软化点与可塑性随树脂含量而异：含树脂率2％～6％者，软化点为62～63℃；含树脂率7％～12％者,软化点为59～60℃。杜仲橡胶的相对密度为0.95～0.98；平均分子量为160000～173000，混炼后降解。杜仲橡胶塑炼时间与可塑度、聚合度、平均分子量的关系见表：
