论文从古代对“建筑”的认识入手， 通过在中国古代文献中对建筑一词的统计和 分析，纠正了过去的“建筑”一词来源于日 本的误说，指出古人并没有把建筑技术作为 一个独立的学术分支，而是将其列入典章制 度的“政书类”和“经济汇编”类中，把有 关建筑做法的记载作为辅助施政的手段或者 工具。

| 《农政全书》 中国明代大型综合性农书。徐光启于天启五年（1625）开始撰著，到逝世时完成初稿。后经陈子龙（卧子）修订，于崇祯十二年（1639）刊行，世称平露堂本。至清代中叶以后有多种重刊本流传。现代整理的版本有1956年邹树文校点本和1979年石声汉校注本。全书60卷，约70万字。内容分农本、田制、农事、水利、农器、树艺、蚕桑、蚕桑广类、种植、牧养、制造和荒政等12门，每门又各分若干子目。内容虽然大量摘录前代农书和有关文献，但经作者精心剪裁，取其要旨，并用夹注、旁注或评语等形式加入了许多作者自己的精辟见解和经验体会，使该书成为一个完整的农学体系。书中以大量篇幅阐述开垦西北荒地、兴修水利、救济灾荒的各种规划、建议和技术，为历代农书所少见，系作者企图针对明末朝政腐败、生产凋敝、农民无法生存的严重情况所提补救措施。
