设n是正整数，则对一切实数 x1 ，x2，……，xt 有如图所示的公式
其中求和是对满足方程 n1+n2+……nt = n 的一切非负整数n1，n2，……，nt 来求 。
多项式定理是对二项式定理的推广，在多项式定理中令t = 2 就得到了二项式定理 。
