| 科班 中国旧时培养戏曲演员的场所。起源于明代。随着戏曲的形成和发展，戏曲除官办的梨园、教坊之外，大多数都是采取口传心授的方法，或拜师学艺，或艺学家传（所谓“门里出身”）。这两种授徒的规模和作用都带有局限性，既不便于培养成龙配套的全堂脚色，又不能随时付诸演出实践，难以适应舞台艺术的平衡发展，于是采用以班代班方式培养演员的大小班和专门培养童伶的科班便相继出现，其性质仍然是师徒相传。明代嘉靖年间已有海盐子弟班和昆曲大小班或科班。清中叶之后，随着地方戏的勃兴，科班如雨后春笋，风靡各地。道光时苏州有昆曲科班，北京有老嵩祝班；咸丰、同治间又有全福昆曲科班和河北农村的双顺、永和、永胜及梆子科班。之后，又有四箴堂科班、益合昆弋科班等。清末民初，又相继出现了一批规模较大、专门培养童年演员的科班。其中有代表性的如富连成社、崇雅社、易俗社、昆剧传习所等，都积累了丰富的传艺经验，形成了一套严格的教学方法，许多知名的戏曲演员大多是这些科班出身。但由于受社会条件的局限，经费匮乏，人力不足，科班能够维持的时间不长。 |
