茶树品种生产试验(productivlty testof tea varieties)又称品种栽培试验。在品种比较试验的基础上，选出少数优良品种，在较大面积上进一步考察其性状和利用价值的试验。该项试验系由育种单位提供苗木，统一规划，分送到部份生产单位试种，并定期进行调查。供试品种不宜过多.而试种面积不宜过小，最好每品种能种0.5亩左右，这样既有利于进一步鉴定其产量与制茶品质，也可作为留养擂枝的母树园，为以后就地大量繁殖良种奠定基础，并在一定程度上起生产示范作用。 种植规格与一般生产茶园相同.而管理水平要比较高，使良种种性得以充分发挥。同时，在试验中还应根据品种特点，结合研究不同品种的栽培技札如种植密度与排列方式、树冠培育、茶园管理、采留标准等。(刘祖生)
