In this paper, a shape memory alloy (SMA) re-centring damper is developed by using pseudo-elasticity property of SMA, and a new isolation device combining the above damper with laminated rubber bearing is proposed, the application of which enables the isolation system to provide preferable isolation character and re-centring capacity.
