美国麻省理工学院的控制和系统研究机构。成立于1939年，当时称为伺服机构实验室，第一任主任是G.S.布朗。它的研究内容和名称的改变，反映了控制与系统学科的历史发展。20世纪40年代，主要从事控制机构的早期开创性研究，其中伺服控制器方面的研究成果在军事系统中广泛应用，并奠定了随机扰动控制的理论基础。50年代初，开展数字控制研究,研制出数控机床和APT语言，奠定了计算机辅助设计和辅助制造的基础。1957年，它更名为电子系统实验室，进行混合计算、计算机显示、雷达信号处理、仪表系统、电子信息系统等研究。60年代中期至70年代，研究重点转向以状态空间观点为基础的系统与控制理论，为航天器制导、生产过程控制做出了重要贡献。在最优控制、最优化及计算方法以及稳定性理论方面的贡献也获得世界公认。70年代中期，开展了数据通信网络及命令、控制、通信系统的研究，1978年更名为信息与决策系统实验室，它在多变量及自适应控制、随机控制、线性与非线性滤波、错误检测等方面取得许多研究成果。在数据通信网络，尤其是分布式算法、动态流通与路径的控制、数据通信网络的动态行为等理论研究中也做出了重要贡献。实验室的研究成果主要反映在其成员发表的论文、技术报告以及博士论文中。
