| 可待因 codeine 一种异喹啉型生物碱。分子式C18H21NO3。存在于罂粟中。含一分子结晶水的可待因为片状晶体 。 熔点 157～158℃ ，比旋光度  －136°（乙醇，C＝2.8）。易溶于氯仿 、乙醇、丙酮、戊醇，稍溶于苯、乙醚 ，微溶于四氯化碳和水 。它与多种酸形成结晶盐，其硫酸盐的熔点为278℃（分解），  －100.9°（水）；苦味酸盐熔点196～197℃；收敛酸盐熔点115℃ 。 可待因遇浓硫酸加浓硝酸呈灰绿色到紫绿色，可待因的药理作用与吗啡相似，有镇痛、镇咳作用，其镇痛作用相当于吗啡的1／7～1／10，镇咳作用为吗啡的 1／4 ，但副作用小，抑制呼吸作用比吗啡轻，对胃肠道几乎无反应。临床上用作镇咳药。
