Nitzschia

   硅藻门菱形藻科的一属。菱形藻细胞菱形、宽叶形或线形,中部膨大,或收缩。细胞单独生活,少数连成群体。末端一般较尖。从壳面观管壳缝常在一侧,亦有接近中线的。管壳缝常不易看到,只能看到船骨点。花纹左右排列。无中央节和端节。色素体两个或多个。复大孢子由互换相等的配子形成。本属共有350种,中国有76种以上。如粗点菱形藻,海水、半咸水和淡水都有。也有化石种类。
