仙米原始天然林区在青海门源县沿东南40公里峡谷地带，距浩门河（大通河）52公里。与班固、朱固的森林时断时续连成一片，蔚为壮丽。林区内重峦叠嶂，群峰嶙峋，千姿百态，保持着原始形成的复杂褶皱，煞是好看。高大的云杉、塔形的油松、针叶、阔叶混交松、质细而硬的白烨、青翠清香的圆柏、青柳、白杨及低矮的各种灌木植物遍布山坡河谷，葱葱郁郁，奇花异草似绿毯上的刺绣，到处是一派生机盎然的翠色，墨绿一样的海洋。林海中不时地出现一些珍禽异兽，悠然间又不知去向，在离你较远的地方鸣叫。在峰回路转的幽谷深处，松枝摇曳，白杨婆娑，怪石嶙峋，泉溪潺潺。一到秋季，霜染层林，五彩缤纷。浩门河激流，清水白浪。这一切构成了一幅优美的天然风景画。身临其境，使人心旷神恰，眷恋不舍。夏季，这里是野游观景、避暑消遣、品尝野炊的理想去处。
