An Optimal Algorithm for the Retrieval of Chlorophyll,Suspended Sediments and Gelbstoff of Case Ⅱ Waters in the Pearl River Estuary

In this paper, an ocean color inversion algorithm based on genetic algorithm for case Ⅱ waters is used to evaluate the capacity to inverse the water constituent concentrations using HY 1A CCD data.

But practical data proved that this assumption is not tenable in the atmospheric correction algorithms for case 2 water.

In this paper algorithms for case 2 waters, the fundamentals, the merits and limitations have been studied, and the principle techniques that may be applied to the problem of algorithms have been given.

Supported by the National 863 High Technology Projects *"Remote Sensing of Case II Waters", the Neural Network (NN) models for atmospheric correction and three-component concentrations retrieval are established for Yellow Sea and East China Sea which belong to Case II waters.

Over case 2 waters near shore,atmospheric correction meets two challenges: the nonzero water-leaving radiances in NIR atmospheric correction bands caused by turbid water;aerosol with strong absorption over nearshore regions.

The optimization approach is one of the most promising methods for retrieval of water constituents in case 2 waters,but almost previous applications of this approach suffer from their local search techniques.

A suitable algorithm of atmospheric correction for case-II water in China seacoast is given out to solve the problem that water-leaving radiance of case-II water in seacoast is set to 0 by ocean color remote sensing software SEADAS due to calculation inability.
