With 70 year development, exploration geochemistry has expanded its scope from a tactical mineral exploration tool into a strategic methodology and from an experience technology into a science.

A review was made in the paper on the analytical technique in determination of geochemical exploration samples since 1950s, with major achievements in multi-elements analytical systems, development of new analytical instruments and technology, personnel training and the preparation for Laboratory Metrology Accreditation in the Central Laboratory of IGGE introduced.

Summing up the basic theories of geochemical exploration has revealed some problems occurring at present exploration of geochemistry in development of social-economy.
