英国数学家 逻辑学家。剑桥大学毕业。长期任伦敦大学教授。英国皇家学会会员，伦敦数学会首任会长。
1874年出版《形式逻辑》一书，用代数方法进行演算，并把关系区别为不同逻辑性质的演算，提出著名的德摩根定律，对后来逻辑代数有一定的影响。
