| 角速度 angular velocity 描述刚体转动快慢和转动方向的物理量。刚体绕定轴转动时，通过转轴作两个平面：其一是固定平面；另一是固连于刚体的转动平面。刚体的位置可用固定平面和转动平面的夹的角  来决定。 称为刚体的转角，是一个代数量 ，它的正负由右手螺旋定则（见力矩）决定。角位移△ 表示刚体在时间间隔△t内转角 的改变量 。角位移△ 与相应时间间隔△t的比值称为平均角速度，即 。若△t®0,则这一比值称为刚体在瞬时t 的角速度，又称为瞬（即）时角速度，记为ω， 。角速度可用一个轴矢量来代表， 称为角速度矢量ω；其大小为  ，其作用线沿转轴并按右手螺旋定则确定w的方向，其起点可以是转轴上的任一点，即绕定轴转动刚体的角速度矢量是一个滑动矢量。当刚体绕某定点转动时，每一瞬时都有一条通过该定点瞬时转轴，该瞬时刚体的运动可以看成是绕瞬时转轴，该瞬时刚体的运动可以看成是绕瞬时转轴的转动。刚体绕瞬时转轴时转轴的角速度，也称为瞬时角速度，它沿着瞬时转轴并按右手螺旋定则决定其方向，但和刚体的定轴转动不同，瞬间角速度w的大小和方向都是随时间而变的。角速度的量纲为T-1，在SI单位制中它的单位的rad/s。 |
