    列宁为纪念马克思逝世30周年而写的文章。刊载于布尔什维克的合法理论月刊《启蒙》杂志1913年第3期(纪念马克思逝世30周年专号),中译文收入《列宁全集》第2版第23卷。
    列宁指出,马克思主义回答了人类先进思想已经提出的种种问题,直接继承了19世纪德国的哲学、英国的政治经济学和法国的社会主义的优秀成果。
   列宁在说明马克思主义的三个来源时阐述了马克思主义的哲学、政治经济学和科学社会主义这三个组成部分。他指出,马克思捍卫了哲学唯物主义 ,用德国古典哲学的成果、特别是辩证法丰富了哲学,把唯物主义对自然界的认识推广到对人类社会的认识,创立了历史唯物主义,指明了被压迫阶级摆脱精神奴役的出路,把伟大的认识工具给了工人阶级。他指出,马克思论证并发展了英国古典政治经济学的劳动价值论,创立了剩余价值理论,阐明了无产阶级在资本主义制度中的真正地位,科学地论证了资本主义灭亡和社会主义胜利的必然性。列宁在阐述马克思主义的社会主义时指出:空想社会主义批评资本主义社会,幻想有比较好的制度出现 ,但它不能指出摆脱剥削制度的真正出路;马克思对资本主义作了科学的分析,说明无产阶级才是创立新制度的社会力量,得出了阶级斗争是划分为对抗阶级的社会发展的基础和动力这一结论。
