蜘蛛目的1科,通称蟹蛛(见彩图)。多数种类头胸部和腹部短宽，步足向左右伸展，能横行，宛如螃蟹，因而得名。全球约1800种。不结网，常静伏花草丛中等候捕食过往的昆虫，有时举起第1 对步足向左右张开。卵袋产于叶面或树干上,雌蛛常伏在卵袋上守护,但通常在幼蛛孵出前死去。常见的有三突花蛛和鞍形花蟹蛛（见图）。多生活在花草丛或豆田中，或在靠近豆田的棉田、麦田中捕食害虫。
