楼德镇农业基础设施条件优越，农业结构调整成效显著，已发展蔬菜生产面积25000亩，桑园5000亩，优质林果4000亩。按照市场化运作、社会化投入，产业化经营、规模化发展的开发方式，蔬菜、桑蚕、林果、食用菌、畜牧五大主导产业发展迅速。由国家投资270万元建起水坡片国家农业综合开发项目区，现已改造成田成方、林成网、路相通、渠相连的高产稳产经济作物栽培区，实现了国家规定的高标准、高起点、高质量、高效率及农田园林化、栽培模式化、灌溉节水化、经营产业化、作物良种化、生产现代化标准。为对名、优、稀、特品种进行示范推广，镇里投资100万元，建起了占地200亩的科技示范园。同时，投资300万元，建起了一处占地3万平方米的大型蔬菜批发市场。
