While examining insects in Xishuangbanna s Mengla nature reserve, the author collected a large number of butterfly speciments, which, through classification, appraisal and reference to previous records, are of 11 families, 89 genera, and 139 species, of which 4 are new records of Yunnan Province.

【上腊】
（术语）腊字正书为腊字。原出于僧腊戒腊。出家受戒，竟一夏（夏期三月之安居）为一腊，竟二夏为二腊，因而数僧之年。谓生年曰世寿，谓出家受具后之年曰法腊。又僧中之席次，依此腊数而定高下，谓之腊次。僧史略曰：“所言腊首，经律中，以七月十六日是比丘五分法身生来之岁首（从四月十六日始，至七月十五日终，谓之夏安居，又云雨安居，旧律也，新律从五月始），则七月十五日是腊除也。比丘出俗，不以俗年为计，乃数其腊耳。”
