| 银道坐标系 galactic coordinate system 在恒星天文学中应用一种天球坐标系。经过太阳且与银盘（见银河系）的对称平面相平行的平面称为银道面，它与天球相交而成的大圆称为银道。银道面是银道坐标系的基本平面。银道的几何极称为银极，与北天极邻近的银极称北银极。经过银极的任何大圆称为银经圈；与银道平行的小圆称为银纬圈。银河系的中心方向（a＝17h42m29s ，δ＝ －28059¢18″，位于人马座)在天球上的投影必然落在银道上，取这点为银道坐标系的主点。 从银河系中的方向起沿银道逆时针方向量到天球上一点的银经圈与银道交点的弧长为经向坐标，称为银经。银经从0°到360°计量。从银道起沿过该点的银经圈量度到该点的大圆弧长为纬向坐标，称为银纬。银纬从0°到±90°计量，银道以北为正，银道以南为负。1958年以前国际上采用的银道坐标系其主点取为银道对天赤道的升交点。这样规定的坐标系称为旧银道坐标系。
