会龙乡位于阜南县西部，距京九铁路10公里，土壤肥沃，交通便利，资源丰富，辖19个村委会，4.1万人，4.7万亩耕地，是一个典型的农业大乡，2003年全乡农民人均纯收入3260元。
二十世纪九十年代起，会龙人迈开了农业产业结构调整的步伐。生姜、药材、大棚菜被称为农民增收“三大宝”，尤其是反季节延秋辣椒生产，年种植面积3.5万亩，总产量1.7亿斤，成为主导产业，仅此一项人均年收入2000多元，带动了全乡经济迅速发展壮大。会龙辣椒有浓辣、微辣、甜辣三种口味，因果大肉厚、味道醇美、色泽鲜亮、品种齐全，被誉为“天下第一椒”，倍受全国60多个大中城市消费者青睐，因而被誉为“辣椒之乡”。2002年元月，会龙辣椒经国家工商局注册为“集辰”牌商标，并获省无公害蔬菜生产认证；2004年6月，通过国家农业部无公害生产认证。辣椒生产带动了相关产业的快速发展，目前运输业已形成规模，全乡拥有个体车辆2000多辆；以金亮食品有限公司和龙汇生姜制品厂为龙头的蔬菜力口工业方兴未艾；餐饮业得到较大发展，独具特色的手擀面、脆皮鸡、沙浆馍等风味小吃美名远扬；农产品流通协会、加工协会等经济组织正发
挥着重要作用。招商引资取得了良好效益，山东台儿庄板材厂、上海纺织设备配件厂等一批外地企业纷纷到会龙投资，为经济增长注入了生机和活力。
