在我国分布于北京、天津、河北、山东、河南、浙江、湖北、江西、湖南、福建、台湾、广东、海南、四川;日本和朝鲜也有分布。
成虫体长2.8-3.0毫米，宽1.6-1.8毫米。头部红褐邑，头上5根头刺黄白色;触角浅黄褐色。前胸背板黄褐色，三南突末端黄白色。前翅透明且宽大，翅面褐色斑较明显;最宽处具有4小室，各室脉上均长有直立长毛。前胸背板具3条纵脊，中脊最长;背缘呈圆弧形，具有3列小室;2侧脊短而低，长度仅为中纵脊的1/3。
年发生3-5代。各地均以成虫在原寄主的枝干裂皮、地下缝隙或地面落叶中过冬。主要危害梨、苹果、桃等果树。
