| 地磁极 geomagnetic poles 地磁场在地球表面的两个极点。关于地磁极的概念有两种不同的思路和结果：理论的和实测的。理论的地磁极是从地球基本磁场中的偶极子磁场出发的。C.F.高斯用球谐函数分析法，把地球看作一个均匀磁化的球体，求得了偶极子磁场的磁轴与地球表面的两个交点为北纬79°、西经70°和南纬79°、东经110°，磁轴与地球自转轴的交角为11°。实测的地磁极是从全球地磁图（等偏角地磁图和等倾角地磁图）上找出的磁倾角为90°的两个小区域，位置约在北纬75.5°、西经101.0°和南纬66.5°、东经140.3°。这两个地点不在地球同一直径的两端，大约偏离2500千米。由于它们是由磁倾角的实际观测决定的，故又称为地磁倾极；理论的地磁极则称为偶极子磁极。偶极子磁极与地磁倾极并不互相重合是由于非偶极子磁场的存在。 |
