   由种子繁殖得到的苗株。具有生长旺盛、根系发达、寿命较长等特点。是植物栽培中最主要的育苗方法。杂交育种中也需利用杂种实生苗后代分离的特性选育新品种。嫁接用的砧木,大多利用各自近缘种的实生苗。对果树、橡胶、乌桕、油桐等经济作物与槐、碧桃、梅花等观赏植物,用实生苗繁殖时,由于后代个体间的性状分离,不能获得品质一致的产品,且童期较长,结果较晚。故大多数用嫁接苗生产。要培育健壮、整齐的实生苗,应选择优良的母本树,适时采收充分成熟的种子。贮藏期中种子含水量应低于12%,温度保持在5℃左右为宜。有些不适于干燥贮藏的种子如板栗、荔枝、柑橘等,应埋在湿沙中低温保存。
