We should inherit our traditional family moral in a critical way such as love and respect between husband and wife,kindness and obedience between parents and children,friendly affection and respect among brothers or sisters,which will be very important modern value to curb family violence,keep family living in harmony and accelerate the socialism harmonious society.

The predicaments of Chinese family morality can be expressed as the ineffectiveness of family morality and its evaluation, the contradjction of family morality selection and the weakening of family morality regulatation and control .

Investigation on the status of the rural family morality in Hunan Province was carried out by means of questionnaire in this paper,the results revealed that the rural family morality tended downwards and family contradiction stood out,mainly the weakening function of rural substrate government and the unfastening work of ideological education.
