In the light of an integration of Marx s thoughts and Freudian psychoanalysis, Fromm revises Freudian individual-psychological theory and changes it into a social-psychological one based on Marx s historical materialism, by which he develops the accounts of social character and social unconsciousness that serve in his criticisms of capitalism.

| 弗罗姆（1900～1980） Fromm，Erich 德国精神病学家，新精神分析学家。1922年获海德堡大学哲学博士学位。次年入慕尼黑大学研究精神分析，并在柏林精神分析学院接受训练。1929年在法兰克福精神分析学院和法兰克福大学任教。1934年移居美国。先后任教于哥伦比亚大学、耶鲁大学、密歇根州立大学。弗罗姆十分重视人与社会的关系的研究。他承认人的生物性，但更强调人的社会性，认为人的本质是由文化的或社会的因素而不是生物的因素决定的。人在现代社会中普遍具有孤独感，这是人在社会中达到个性化的必然结果。为了医治病态社会，他提出通过改善人的心理，解决有关人们的劳动组织与社会的相互关系的问题，建立一个友爱、互助、没有孤独感的理想社会。著有《逃出自由》、《精神分析与宗教》、《论健全的社会》、《人类破坏性的分析》等。 |
