石渠藏族是一个能歌舞的民族，民族民间歌舞文化种类繁多，但其中最富有影响力、历史相对久远，最受广大农牧民群众喜爱的是“锅庄”。
石渠锅庄旋律一般是高调式和宫调式，其歌词大都是赞美生活，歌颂当地的山山水水，祈祷幸福等方面的内容。在农区每月十五月圆之一时，青年男女都有要聚集在一起跳锅庄，在藏族节庆或其他重大节庆时人数多达上百人，甚至上千人，石渠县县舞，就是上千人的大型锅庄舞。
