意识改变状态(altered states of eonseiou-sness， ASc)亦称“意识转换状态”。超个体心理学研究的内容之一，指个体明显感觉到其心理功能发生质的变化，亦即处于同常态不同的意识状态。美国心理学家克瑞普纳(Krippner，5.)于1972年区分了20种不同的意识状态，前19种是意识改变状态，最后一种是正常觉醒意识。包括:做梦状态、睡眠状态、入睡状态、朦胧状态、过度警觉状态、困倦状态、狂喜状态、庶症状态、分裂状态、退行状态、沉思状态、迷离状态、遐想状态、白日梦状态、内部扫描状态、酒精和药物导致的木僵状态、昏迷状态、记忆储存再现状态、致幻剂引起的“扩展”意识状态、正常觉醒状态。超个体心理学当前更重视对神经症状态、致幻状态和沉思状态的研究，认为这三种状态基本处在同一连续体上，只是前两种状态较少受主体控制，时间短暂且经常转换，而沉思状态可由主体控制。从现象学角度来看，它们都包含着一种强烈的自我超越体验，而完全不同于人对社会现实的正常体验。在人的内心深处有一种现实的神秘感、敬畏感，甚至惊讶或恐怖感。超个体心理学正是要通过对这些转换的意识状态的研究，来发现人类究竟能在多大程度上实现自我的超越。 (牟丈博撰王启康审)
