Designing Task-Based Classroom Activities to Promote Learners Communicative Competence;

Teachers cannot teach students everything but help them learn and make improvement by themselves in classroom activities, .

This paper analyzes its causes and proposes to improve students communicative ability by training pronunciation, learning set expressions , cultivating communicative ability and designing proper classroom activities.

To put it simply, the task, which is goal-oriented and learner-centered, is a classroom activity in which students use real-life language to achieve a specific outcome.

The effective classroom activity designing can not only help students obtain language competence,but also experience the value of education in fulfilling the mutual cooperation of communicative task for realizing the promotion of personality.

This classroom activity,however,has exhibited signs of certain deficiencies.

Successful College English teaching depends on class activities, while positive and beneficial class activities are characterized by "harmonious" models.

So this paper,applying the action research in its study,explores what class activities are more appropriate and effective in promoting students participation in class.

The aim of this study is to find out the kinds of class activities used by Chinese and foreign teachers to help students develop writing skills, the similarities and differences between the class activities used by Chinese and foreign teachers and the reasons causing those differences.
