适应心理治疗(adaptive psyehotherapy)由精神分析治疗中派生出的一种治疗技术。这种心理治疗着重培育病人的适应而不是调整，着眼于病人具体的适应不良性问题，治疗者内在的自我协调和适应的特点是一个治疗因素【、此疗法来自于H.哈特曼的理论。他认为适应不同于调整，适应意味着精神上平衡、能享受生活的乐趣和没有紊乱，也意味着积极地与环境协作和努力改变环境的目标;而调整意味着被动地屈从于社会的目标。适应可进可退，进则将环境变得更好，心理得以发展;退则为社会所容忍，心理发展受阻或进入婴儿式的自我之中。这种治疗的特点有:(l)让病人在长时间内保持同医院的接触。(2)每次接触时间 一般不多于25分钟，每周不多于一次。(3)经常配合使用抗精神病药物。(4)治疗目标是变动的，但主要目标不是领悟、移情探讨或阐释。(5)所用方法有情绪支持、压制(suppression)·制定约束、劝告、环境操纵、注意生活事件和促进对现实的考察等。在治疗中为了防止病人对治疗者的严重依赖和倒退，此疗法规定在病人同医院或科室间建立联系，由不同的治疗者接诊病人。此疗法不尝试改变病人的基本性格障碍和防御，而把重点放到病人具体的适应不良性上，对病人进行现实教一育，强调增强客观性、减少莫名的恐惧、矫正推理的歪曲。这种心理治疗主要用于拥有大量病人的精神病院，用于那些对通常的治疗(特别是集中的心理治疗)反应不佳的慢性精神分裂症、疑病症、边缘性精神病、老年病人和严重依赖的病人。 (梁宝勇撰徐俊觅审)
