| 政教合一制度 caesaropapism 政权和神权合而为一的政治制度。其基本特点是：国家元首和宗教领袖同为一人，政权和教权由一人执掌；国家法律以宗教教义为依据，宗教教义是处理一切民间事务的准则，民众受狂热和专一的宗教感情所支配。 政教合一制度在中世纪时期拜占廷、英国、俄国、阿拉伯、印度等国家或地区实行过。当时封建统治阶级为了维护和加强自己的政治统治，需要利用宗教；而宗教首领为了扩大影响、争夺势力，也需要与封建统治者的联合。掌握神权与掌握政权的两大集团既彼此争夺权势，又相互依赖和利用。欧洲历史上曾出现过宗教控制政权或由封建君主担任教主的局面。如拜占廷皇帝担当教会的保护者和宗教事务的主持者；俄国沙皇伊凡四世滥用权力干预教会事务；英国亨利八世规定教会必须服从君主等。政教合一制度是宗教和政治结合最密切的形式。近代资产阶级革命以后，多数国家实行政教分离，相继废除政教合一制度。但仍有少数国家实行这一制度。 |
