城市经济结构城市经济的组合构造。有三方面的涵义:①从社会分工着眼，指城市经济各部门、各方面的相互关系和数量比例。如城市产业结构、城市产品结构、城市资源结构、城市就业结构等。②从社会生产各环节着眼，指城市生产、流通、分配和消费的相互关系和数量比例。③从生产关系着眼，指城市所有制结构。城市经济结构是随着城市经济的发展而不断发展变化的。前工业化城市随着农村自然经济的逐渐瓦解，城市市场经济的不断发展，城市商业在城市经济结构中占有越来越大的比重工业化城市，特别是工业革命后的近代城市，随着社会化大生产和机器大工业的进一步发展和集中，城市工业逐渐占据主导地位，在城市经济结构中起着支配作用并占有最大比例.一此重要工业部门成为城市经济的主体和支柱，许多城市实际上成为各种不同类型的工业基地。但是，随着当代世界新技术革命和社会生产力的迅猛发展，以及城市功能的进一步完善和综合性发展，城市经济结构中传统工业的比重逐渐下降，新兴工业和服务性行业的比重逐渐上升，并日益发挥其重要作用。城市经济向着综合性发展，在综合性城市的经济结构中，工业不再占据主导地位。城市经济结构还要受城市所处的自然、资源、经济、文化、政治、历史等因素制约，因而不同城市有不同的组合形式和一定差异的经济结构。
