Some intellectuals concerned about our country and our people felt that the foreign aggression became more and more urgent day by day, so they all devoted themselves to the historical and geographical research of Chinas northwest frontier, trying to expose the aggression ambition of tsarist Russia through research in order to arouse the attention of countrymen to the problem .

This paper attempts to make a review of research on Beidao from three aspects: the research on the background and thought; the research and comparison between texts and artistic methods; the inadequacy of the research.
